HOMILY FOR 2ND SUNDAY IN THE ORDINARY TIME — YEAR C

HOMILY THEME: FROM IMPERFECTION TO PERFECTION

In today’s Gospel (John 2:1-11) episode, we heard the story of Jesus’ first miracle according to Johannine text.

Irrespective of the high profile and divine nature of Jesus Christ He was invited to a wedding feast in a humble home in a village in Galilee, and He attended. Thus, His presence saved the wedding family from the shame of insufficient wine for their occasion.

On a deeper reflection, Jesus comes to turn our imperfections to perfections. He came to fulfill the law or perfect the law. The imperfections of the law are now turned to perfections of grace.

As we continue to invite Jesus in our home, may Mary our mother, intercessor and perpetual helper take me, you and your family to Jesus her son so that our imperfections will be turn to perfections, our insufficiency to abundance, bad attitude to good attitude, our disappointed into joy, problems to solutions.
