CATHOLIC CHURCH UNDER ATTACK IN NIGERIA: ANOTHER PRIEST KIDNAPPED IN AUCHI DIOCESE, EDO STATE.

We hadn’t yet recovered from the news of the MURDER of our brother Rev. Fr. Vitus Borogo, of Kaduna Archdiocese, when I heard again that my Classmate and brother, Rev. Fr. Christopher Ọdia has been kidnapped.

Fr. Christopher had gone to his garage this morning, June 26 2022, to drive to his Church compound for Mass, only to fall into the hands of waiting kidnappers.

The communications Director of the Catholic Diocese of Auchi, Rev. Fr. Peter Egielewa, confirmed this in a press release which stated: “Information reaching us is that Fr. Christopher Odia has been kidnapped this Sunday morning 26th June 2022…Lets pray for his quick release”

How can anyone convince me that the Catholic Church in Nigeria isn’t under attack? How can anyone convince me that this isn’t about religion?

From the North to the South, to the East to the West, Catholic Priests, Seminarians, Rev. Srs., parishioners, and Catholic Churches have been specially targeted by bandits, kidnappers and Terrorists.

We have been picked up from the highways, from our Churches, Rectories, Seminaries, and even Convents.

What offence did we commit? What evil did we do? Why is the Government of the day silent about our predicament?

May God continue fight for his children.
