DAILY REFLECTION FOR MONDAY OF THE 30TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR II.

THEME: LOOSEN FROM THE BOND.

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI, EHJ.

REFLECTION FOR MONDAY OCTOBER 24 2022.

Lk 13: 10 – 17.

Jesus wants me to respect laws and customs but does not want me to be enslaved by them. He is ready to set me free from the infirmity of not appreciating others’ good works. He is ready to loosen me from the bondage of rigidity to the law, and lack of charity. Am I bent double with the virus of criticism? Do I spot out and help the needy around me? Are my hands tied from being charitable under the pretext of the law? Are people who are bent with worrisome issues able to ‘stand up straight’ after their encounter with me?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, heal me from the sins that are weighing me down and bending my spirit towards negative lifestyle. Show me compassion and mercy so that I too may stand and walk upright in the path of love and kindness. Straighten me up from the tendency to malign others and be a fault finder. May I value the dignity of persons more than laws. May I praise and glorify you in my deeds and words. Amen.
