Mt 21: 23 – 27.
To be a true prophet imbued with divine authority is to live the Word of God and walk in his ways. It is to always rescue the truth from drowning, that is, say the hard truth even when it is not convenient for me, and I stand to loose face with my friends. The Chief Priests and elders refused to know and say the truth, thereby doubting the divine authority of Jesus. I am like them too whenever I hide the obvious under the garb of “I don’t know” or “I can’t remember”. Do I have Jesus as the authority behind my talks and actions? What truth do I know and is pretending not to know?

LET US PRAY.
Lord Jesus, save me from the temptation of diluting the truth, mingling it with pretence and show casing it as honesty. Let me be humble and courageous to face the truth and reality about myself so that I can regain my authority to speak and act in Christ’s name. Give me the grace to seek for clarity about things I do not know rather than holding on to a false and ignorant position out of sheer pride. Amen.
