Theme: BE A MODEL. BE DISCIPLINED

Reflection for Thursday February 24 2022

Mk 9: 41-50.

Jesus instructs me to have regard for those who work for him. He tells of the reward of being kind to those who serve Him. He wants me to be disciplined, respectful, responsible, and mortified, to avoid doing evil, and never to teach another to sin. This way, it is easier for people I serve to value the Christ in me. Do I understand that to cut off my hand/leg (spiritual amputation) which causes me to sin simply means to avoid every occasion of sin and to let go of revenge, repulsion, hate, slander? Am I kind? What/who causes me to sin? Friends? Colleagues? My mood swing? My ill temper? Did I scandalize others by my actions and utterances? Do I hinder their spiritual growth? Is my lifestyle exemplary or scandalous?

LET US PRAY
Dear Jesus, I desire to be a model to the younger ones. I want to be holy and righteous. I do not want to loose the saltiness of my life. Help me to overcome my vices and bad habits. Grant me the necessary graces to do all that is pleasing in your sight. Grant me the fortitude to overcome all obstacles to my spiritual growth. May I have the flavour and quality of salt in me so that I can be a blessing to others. Amen.
