THEME: THE NARROW GATE.

REFLECTION FOR WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 26 2022.

Lk 13: 22-30.

The view at the end of the tunnel is usually bright. Same with the view after the narrow gate. Jesus is making it clearly known that being a ‘registered’ follower of his on this earth is not a guarantee of admission to heaven if I don’t do the right things. The narrow gate is when I make effort to live with and love even my enemies, patience with all, preference for life of sacrifice rather than comfort, helping the poor, caring for the sick etc. Why do I seem to have preference for the wide gates (pleasure, position etc) of life?

LET US PRAY
Help me Lord Jesus to endure the passing pains and challenges of life so that I may be admitted into your heavenly Kingdom. May I mortify and resist myself from indulging in the passing and alluring enjoyment of this life. Give me the moral strength to always make choices that are good for my soul. Amen.
