Homily for Wednesday February 23 2022

Mk 9: 38-40.

I sometimes have an unwelcoming and put-off attitude towards other members of the Church that I perceive as not good enough. This is not a nice attitude. Jesus wants me to rejoice at the success and joy of my neighbours. Being envious and jealous is bad, they lead me to sorrow and resentment. Do I rejoice at the good of others when they shine more than me? Do I realize that I sometimes expect others to measure up to my ‘one size fit all’ method of prayer?

LET US PRAY
Thank you Lord Jesus for revealing yourself to all people. Thank you for their faith in you. Help me to be receptive of people of other faith. Give me a heart full of love that rejoices at the success and achievement of others. Grant me a deep faith and trust in your Most Holy Name. Amen.
