… DOUBTING OR BELIEVING THOMAS?

How do we describe St. Thomas today?
We often refer to those who are slow to believe as “doubting Thomas’s.”

Thus, it seems we often fail to the see the other side of Thomas upon his encounter of the risen Lord. There are so many who would still doubt even after seeing and knowing reality. The doubt of Thomas resulted in a confession of faith that would ever echo in christendom; “my Lord and my God”.

The faith that resulted from Thomas’ doubting took to the gospel to India and presented Thomas with the martyrs crown.

What a doubt that led to a faith immovable as a rock!

Through the intercession of believing St. Thomas, may our doubts lead us to authentic faith in the risen Lord.
