FRIDAY HOMILY: 30TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME – YEAR A

THEME: On Any Given Day

By: Deacon Bill Frere

Gospel – Luke 14:1-6

Church of St. Joseph, Nazareth

Today, let’s put today’s Gospel into the simplest of terms!

Being kind to a stranger – GOOD!
Buying coloring books/crayons for the little migrant children sitting forlornly outside the store – GOOD!
Visiting a sick relative – GOOD!
Donating to a food pantry – GOOD!
Comforting a grieving friend – GOOD!
Praying – GOOD!
Forgiving someone who hurt us – GOOD!

ALSO RECOMMENDED: FRIDAY HOMILY, 29TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME (YEAR A)

Doing something good based solely on the time of day or the day of the week (like the Pharisees in today’s Gospel) – BAD, VERY BAD!!!
