HOMILY FOR FRIDAY OF THE 3RD WEEK OF EASTER

HOMILY FOR FRIDAY MAY 6 2022

Acts 9:1-20; John 6:52-59

When Jesus lives within us, we become Tabernacles. Yes! Living and active Tabernacles. In Catholic Churches, this is one of the most sacred of structures, because it houses the real body of Jesus Christ. Yea? So why is it so difficult to change our ways, even when we’re living Tabernacles of God’s presence? Human weakness? Lack of faith and trust in God? Fear of failure? Personal and selfish interests?

Friends, I can’t possibly remember the number of times I’ve received the body and blood of Jesus Christ. But have I been able to positively influence others in equal measure by my presence? I know I need to work harder; to try more and more to let the Jesus I receive daily live and work in me and through me. No one is too far gone that he or she cannot be saved. Take our brother Saul for instance. Jesus ‘caught’ him and turned him around, in spite of the evils he had done. “So don’t give up on God, ‘cos He won’t give up on you. HE’S ABLE!”
