HOMILY FOR MONDAY OF THE 25TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME CYCLE II
THEME: Open the windows of your hearts!
BY: Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor (Uromi Diocese)
HOMILY FOR MONDAY SEPTEMBER 19 2022
Prov.3:27-34; Luke 8:16-18
Someone once remarked that one who does evil openly has the opportunity of being corrected. But the one who does evil in secret cannot be corrected, since he/she appears to be so holy and upright in the open. The first reading today has a set of injunctions; do not refrain from being kind to your neighbour; do not plot harm against the unsuspecting neighbour; do not pick quarrels with one who has done you no harm; do not model your life after the man/woman of violence…
Friends, nothing is hidden under the sun. When we strive after holiness, God gives us more graces to attain it. We cannot keep running to dark corners; perpetuating all sorts of evil under the cover of darkness. We must dig deep, and uproot whatever seed of evil germinating in the shadowy recesses of our hearts. As children of light, we must radiate light, that all around us may benefit from our rays of goodness. Open the windows of your hearts. Let the light come in…
Good morning dear. God bless your week ahead.
