HOMILY FOR MONDAY OF THE 5TH WEEK OF LENT.

THEME: LIGHT IN DARKNESS.

BY: FR. GERALD M. MUSA.

Have you been a victim of slander, gossip, unfair accusation, or continual verbal and emotionalassaults from adversaries? Have you been accused of something you did not do? At such difficult moments, you feel you are walking through the valley of the shadow of death. The story of Suzanna in the book of Daniel is one of the greatest stories about false accusations and God’s intervention. Suzanna was falsely accused of adultery and was condemned to death. Her case was a clear miscarriage of justice until Daniel stepped in to review the case and administered a fair judgment. She was vindicated and her false accusers were found guilty. Suzanna represents the children of light who are constantly tormented by the wicked, and the elders who falsely accused her represent the world of darkness.
