INTRODUCTION
The 2nd Sunday of Advent Year C reminds us to prepare for the coming of Christ.

FROM OUR FIRST READING
Baruch’s words invite us to return to God with joy, leaving behind sorrow and embracing hope. This reflects God’s readiness to restore us no matter how far we have strayed. His promise to make paths smooth and valleys filled shows His desire to remove obstacles that hinder our return to Him. Advent is a time for renewal, trust, and hope in God’s faithfulness.

FROM OUR SECOND READING
Paul’s letter to the Philippians brings a message of joy in working together for the gospel. He thanks God for their faith and assures them that God will complete the good work He began in them. This gives us confidence that God is always guiding and helping us grow in faith. Paul’s prayer for their love and knowledge to grow reminds us to deepen our relationships with God and one another as we prepare for Christ’s coming.

FROM OUR GOSPEL READING
The Gospel highlights John the Baptist’s call to prepare the way for the Lord. This means clearing obstacles in our lives, such as sin or selfishness, that keep us from God. John urges an active response, inviting people to change their hearts and be ready for Jesus. His message of repentance challenges us to confront what holds us back and make room for Christ in our lives.

CONCLUSION
These reflections encourage us to prepare for Christ with open hearts, mutual support, and active effort. Advent is a time to trust in God’s promises, grow in love, and remove anything that stands in the way of our faith. As we prepare for Christmas, we are reminded of God’s love and our call to reflect that love to others.

May you have a Blessed Sunday Everyone.
