THEME: Divine Report Sheet

R. Is 54: 1-10
Gospel Luke 7:24-30.

It is customary that at the end of every term or semester, report sheets are given to students, most parents await eagerly to see the positions or grades of their children with high expectations. This report has two dimensions, first is the position or grade of a child while the second aspect has the remark made by headmaster or principal. A child might take a good position but has a very bad remark such as, he talks too much in the class, he sleeps much in the class. He doesn’t pay attention when lectures are going on.
Today in a special way, Luke 7:24-30 affirms Christ remark on the Divine report sheet of John the Baptist. “Among those born of women, none is greater than John.
Beloved in the Lord, it is very important that we know, that just as we undergo series of courses in this physical life, such as maths, biology, chemistry. So also we undergo some courses in our spiritual journey to God. Some of the spiritual courses in our time tables are Love, Faith, Witness, Holiness and Service.
If God is to make a remark in your Divine report sheet? Hope it will be a report that leads you into the Kingdom of God.

In the history of Israel,. God has always sent them prophets who would bring them back to obedience each time they stray, but it becomes so disheartening that almost all the prophets sent to them, most were killed and some subjected to excruciating pains. It was because of the way prophets were treated that made God to say through Amos( Amos 8:11)
The time is surely coming,” says the Sovereign LORD, “when I will send a famine on the land— not a famine of bread or water but of hearing the words of the LORD. After the death of Malachi, the people of Israel stayed 400yrs without any prophet sent to them, so it was so surprising to them, when they heard another voice preaching in the desert, this was from the background in which Christ asked them, What did you come to desert to see, let us this day like Children of God always heed to his words especially as his priests feed us each day with the spiritual food from the sacred scripture.
