Homily for Thursday February 3 2022

I Kings 2:1-4,10-12; Mark 6:7-13

Today I woke up with a question in my head. Do I consider myself sent? An apostle is one who is sent; one sent with a message to others. Jesus sent out the twelve today in pairs. He wanted them to trust only in him who sent them. And he wanted them to preach repentance.

Friends, do you see yourself as one with a message? To feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, harbour the homeless… to make the world a better place? If not, why not start today? The world is waiting for you to be an apostle to your immediate environment. Have you tried and failed? Get up and keep trying. It’s not meant to be easy. Trust God completely.

Good morning dear. God bless your day ahead.
