HOMILY FOR TUESDAY APRIL 26 2022

Acts 4:32-37; John 3:7-15

The opening words of today’s first reading strike us deeply. It’s very difficult today to find groups of believers who are truly united in heart and soul. The devil struggles so much to ensure that we are never united, since he knows the exceeding grace that comes from unity. Christians beware! We have abandoned elderly members; sick persons are unvisited; some of our parishioners are hungry with no one to feed them; some others are in prison, with none to testify for them; many others have wandered and lost their way, with no one to bring them in…

Friends, Nicodemus, though a teacher, realised he didn’t know it all. He was humble enough to overlook his earthly position and come to Jesus seeking wisdom and understanding. He returned a better leader. We too must come to Jesus daily, in humility and prayer, if we must grow in the spirit. This relationship with the Holy Spirit ensures unity. The money in the bank, houses we acquire, cars we drive around town, etc, will not save us when the time comes. Rather than fight over, or kill ourselves because of material things, we must as a necessity, strive towards unity and peace. We must try to look out for one another! Can we do this?

Good morning dear. God bless your day ahead.
