HOMILY FOR TUESDAY OF THE 2ND WEEK OF LENT.

THEME: Wash, make yourselves clean!

BY: Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor (Uromi Diocese).

Isaiah 1:10,16-20; Matt 23:1-12

Sin is tenacious; make no mistakes about it. Very often we make up our minds to stop sinning. Yes! We’ve sat down and really given ourselves ‘the talk’ many times. But after the whole thing, we still go right back to the sin. Why? Simply because we rely too much on our own strength. Today, God says to us ‘come let us talk this over…’ He is ready to make us brighter and better if only we give Him full charge.

RELATED: HOMILY FOR TUESDAY OF THE 2ND WEEK OF LENT

Friends, we must continue to make efforts. That part of us that’s unwilling to let go of the pleasure of sin has to be persuaded, encouraged, convinced and disciplined. We must not just avoid evil, but also strive to do good. We have to help get justice to the oppressed. We must learn to take special care of the orphan, the widow, and those rejected by our society. We must try to volunteer in positive humanitarian projects that make the much needed difference in our world today. If you’ve tried and failed, try again. Let us pray for the grace to let go of sin and let God purify us this season of Lent, through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Good morning dear. God bless your day ahead.
