HOMILY OF THE 4TH TUESDAY OF EASTER — YEAR A
HOMILY THEME: THE PROCLAMATION OF THE HOLY GOSPEL AND THE CARING OF JESUS FOR HIS FOLLOWERS
BY: Fr Deotacious Chikontwe SMA
Acts 11: 19–26; John 10:22–30
INTRODUCTION
Tuesday of the 4th Week of Easter highlights the growth of the early Church and the care Jesus has for His followers.
FROM OUR FIRST READING
The first reading shows how the disciples, through faith, shared the Good News in new places. Many believed, and the Church continued to grow. In Antioch, the followers of Jesus were first called Christians. This name marked them as people who lived by His teaching and followed His example.

FROM OUR GOSPEL READING
In the Gospel, Jesus says His sheep know His voice and follow Him. His words offer peace and guidance. He promises eternal life and says that no one can take His followers out of His hand. This shows the strong care and protection Jesus gives to those who trust Him. He is the Good Shepherd who leads His people with love and safety.
WHAT DO WE LEARN FROM THE TWO READINGS OF TODAY?
The readings of today, remind us that being a Christian is more than just a name. It is shown through how we live and respond to Jesus’ voice. The early disciples were known by their actions. They listened, believed, and shared the message of Jesus. Their example calls us to live in a way that reflects our faith and brings others closer to Him.
CONCLUSION
Tuesday of the 4th Week of Easter encourages us to listen to Jesus, trust His guidance, and share the Good News. He gives us peace, direction, and the promise of eternal life. As we follow Him, we grow in faith and help build up the Church with our words and actions.
I wish everyone a blessed Tuesday! May God bless you always !
