HOMILY OF TUESDAY 15TH WEEK OF ORDINARY TIME – YEAR B
HOMILY THEME: GOD OR NOTHING!
BY: Fr Oselumhense Anetor
Is. 7:1-9; Matt. 11:20-24
We always ask ourselves why the situation in our country Nigeria seems to get worse. Right? Public office holders continue to steal the money meant for everyone, jobs can’t be gotten except one has someone ‘up there’, hard-work is seldom rewarded, schools have become shadows of what they used to be… We’re so gullible, we prefer to sit and watch arranged ‘miracles’ than make a decision to change our ways. We claim to stand with God, when in fact we stand with ourselves.

Friends, standing with God, turning away from evil, and learning to do good is a decision we must discipline ourselves to make on a daily basis. Look around you. We have so many fake prophets performing religious abominations in the name of miracles. Television channels constantly besiege us with endless deliverance sessions, signs and wonders, yet Jesus rebuked Bethsaida, Chorazin and Capernaum today because they refused to repent in spite of the miracles performed in them. Friends, let’s stand with God and change our ways. Genuine repentance is still the bigger miracle.
Good morning dear. God bless your day ahead.
