I RATHER HAVE JESUS

The theme of this reflection is the title of one of the beautiful songs composed and sung by Jim Reeves. In my quiet this morning, the thought of the song was heavy in my heart and I decided by the grace of the Holy Spirit to honour it.

There are innumerable gifts of God evidenced in our world and lives. However, the greatest of all God’s gift to us is the gift of of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. The gift of Jesus Christ is the absolute expression of God’s love for the world. Jesus Christ is the gift that should not be rejected nor thrown away.

We must seek to possess the gift of Jesus Christ than the gifts of silver, gold, houses or lands, power and fame, academic laurels, beauty, untold riches etc. Than to be prince at the devil’s domain and enslaved by sin; we should rather have Jesus than have everything in this fleeting world.

I need you every hour Lord Jesus Christ. Please stay with me always. All along my pilgrim journey, savior let me walk with thee. This my prayer for and me.
