JESUS ON THE EMMAUS JOURNEY: THE GRACE OF THE HOLY MASS.

JESUS ON THE EMMAUS JOURNEY: THE GRACE OF THE HOLY MASS.

In life, times abound when the Emmaus Journey may seem necessary. Moments when the sun no longer shines and moon refuses to give out its light may tend to suggest the end of hope. But should we leave Jerusalem at such times?

The Emmaus Journey often begins when disappointments and discouragements stand before us as a rock. The two disciples who set out for Emmaus had thought Jesus would redeem Israel from a material perspective. So they were downcast when Jesus was killed and the story about His resurrection based on the testimony of the women seemed too much for their comprehension.

Jesus showed up in the hopeless situation of the Emmaus Journey Disciples. Through the explanation of the Scriptures and the breaking of Bread they encountered the risen Lord. What is the Holy Mass? The Holy Mass is the greatest moment of encountering the risen Lord. Not to acknowledge the grace of the Holy Mass makes us journey to Emmaus instead of Jerusalem.

Love.
