“PRAY, HOPE AND DON’T WORRY”: Memorable Advice of St.Padre Pio.
A good friend of mine and brother who goes by the name Lawrence, would always advise that “I never make way for depression through fear and anxiety over whatever challenging situation I experience in Life.” I must confess that the above words for which I will ever remember my friend and brother in St Vincent de Paul was a spring board that helped me immensely in crossing the threatening waters of my life as a youth.
In the vein of the above, Padre Pio a Saint widely known for his piety, charity and stigmata is remembered for his constant saying which brings joy in sorrow, peace in trouble and hope in despair. Padre Pio is remembered to have always advised; “pray, hope and don’t worry.” Dear, there would always be situations to worry about in life. But has worrying really solved any problem? Alot of people have become depressed and frustrated because the swam in the ocean of life’s worries. When we give into worries, we become blind to seeing the divine hands ready to help us and deaf to hearing voice of divine direction out of our problems.
Enough of the worries! Padre Pio says to us as we celebrate him today; “pray, hope and don’t worry.” St. Padre Pio, pray for us!
