The question of how best to receive Christ in the Holy Communion is an open answer to everyone based on spirituality, preference, and conscience. The Church duelly permit the two popular methods of either receiving the Holy Communion directly impressed on the tongue by the minister, or through receiving the sacred specie on our palms.
The oldest practice of recieving the communion was on the tongue through an ordained minister. The dawn of the Second Vatican counsel came with many changes which many are yet to integrate.
However, if the two methods of receiving the Holy Communion are both acceptable, which method do you prefer and why?

02 Oct 2005, VATICAN CITY, Vatican — Pope Benedict XVI gives the communion to a nun during a solemn mass in Saint Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican for the opening of the synod of the bishops October 2, 2005. Pope Benedict opening the first major Church meeting since his election, said on Sunday that trying to keep God out of public life was “not tolerance but hypocrisy.” The Pope also said that too many Catholic lives could be compared to “vinegar rather than wine” because of the indifference to God. — Image by © MAX ROSSI/Reuters/Corbis
