REFLECTION FOR FRIDAY OF 3RD WEEK OF EASTER.

THEME: THE FLESH AND BLOOD OF JESUS IS REAL FOOD AND DRINK.

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI EHJ

Jn 6: 52 – 59.

The Jews spent energy arguing with Jesus instead of making effort to understand his spiritual message of eating his flesh and drinking his blood. I too need deep supernatural faith to understand and appreciate the mystery of the Holy Eucharist and Eucharistic adoration. Whatever contradicts my understanding of the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist is the scale that needs to fall off, so that I can be converted to become a devout Adorer. Do I read the Bible and other spiritual books in order to understand Jesus better? Do I pay keen attention to the words of Consecration during Mass?

LET US PRAY
Dear Lord Jesus, remove the scale from my eyes so that I may know that your flesh is real food and your blood is real drink. May my desire to deepen my understanding and faith in the Eucharist and life after death be realized soon. Give me a deep faith in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. Help me to always prepare myself so as to be in a state of grace before receiving it, and when I do, let me receive it with reverence and devotion. Amen.
