33RD SUNDAY HOMILY,  ORDINARY TIME - YEAR A.

REFLECTION FOR SATURDAY OF 21ST WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME.

THEME: THE PARABLE OF THE TALENTS.

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI EHJ.

Mt 25: 14 – 40.

The parable of the talents invites me to make a growing investment on the gifts given to me by God. It is not right for me to keep (bury) all the favours the Lord has freely blessed me with. Hiding my skills and abilities because of selfishness, laziness or under the pretext of humility is the sign of an ingrate. Do I share thoughts on inspirational books I have read, and self-development talks I have heard of? Do I know that by upholding good values and practicing virtues I can have ripple effect in influencing others positively?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, give me the grace and the zeal to multiply the natural talents you have endowed me with. Let me realize that fear and lack of confidence can never multiply my giftedness, rather, their growth will be stunted. May my personal charism, good works and deeds have positive impact on those I mentor, so that they too can multiply it through their behaviours. Amen.
