REFLECTION FOR THE 13TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR C

THEME: CALLED TO FOLLOW JESUS IN TRUST

REFLECTION FOR SUNDAY JUNE 26 2022

Lk 9: 51-62.

Jesus went to Jerusalem in preparation for his suffering and death. By this he teaches me to have an attitude of forgiveness toward my enemies. To me and all who want to follow him, he is not promising us that all will be cozy, rosy and full of enjoyment. Not at all. Jesus is telling me frankly and sincerely that the cost of becoming his disciple is indeed very high. Jesus is asking me to keep looking straight ahead as I follow him. There should be no looking back and no feeling of regret. When am I tempted to hesitate or look back at all that I have left to follow Jesus? Who or what helps me to keep trusting Jesus?

LET US PRAY
I thank you Jesus for the many Priests, Religious, married, the single and lay organizations that that have made so much sacrifices to serve you and to follow in your steps. Strengthen me when I have to give up home, family and means of income in order to do your will. Help me at those times when being a Christian is extremely difficult. Give me your special grace to follow you with complete commitment, trust and detachment. Amen.
