THEME: THE CALL OF NATHANAEL (BARTHOLOMEW)

REFLECTION FOR WEDNESDAY AUGUST 24 2022

Jn 1: 45 – 51.

Like Philip who invited Nataniel to “come and see”, I too must attract souls to God’s house. Though Nathaniel was initially prejudiced about Nazaret, he did not let it go far. His encounter with Jesus who affirmed his virtuous living is a great testimony that God can do great things with those we overlook. Can Jesus say that I’m a Christian without double face and all sorts of vices? Do I encourage young people to live a clean and virtuous life? Do I promote vocation to the religious life or priesthood? Do I encourage the married to practice patience and fidelity?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, you are the Son of God and the King of kings. Thank you for opening the heaven of mercy and grace to me. Let me still experience your presence and see greater things as I follow in your holy path. As I stand under the great canopy of the earthly fig tree, I pray that blessings will pour favourably into my heart and mind. Amen.
