REFLECTION FOR THURSDAY OF 5TH WEEK OF EASTER.

THEME: REMAIN IN MY LOVE.

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI EHJ.

Jn 15: 9 – 11.

Jesus loves me in the same way that he is loved by God. To reap the benefits of this love I must obey God’s commandments. Jesus wants me to abide in his love, and resolve conflicts amicably. To abide in his love is to be accommodating, never imposing hard rules which I don’t keep on others. He wants me to obey the Father’s laws and experience great joy. Do I keep or break God’s commandment to worship him alone, respect his name, honour my parents, etc? Am I truly inwardly joyful with the joy of the Lord who is my strength? Am I a joy killer or joy giver?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, may I remain always in your love and peace as I make effort to obey your laws. I am sorry for the times I have not heeded your command to remain in your love. Forgive me for using the ‘one size fits all’ mentality for relating with others. Help me to realize that it is only if I abide in you that I will experience fullness of joy. Grant me the peace and joy that comes from loving, serving and obeying you. Amen.
