REFLECTION FOR THURSDAY OF THE CHRISTMASTIDE.

THEME: COME AND SEE.

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI, EHJ.

REFLECTION FOR JANUARY 5TH.

Jn 1: 43-51.

Nataniel came to Jesus through the instrumentality of Phillip. I too must let the light of my life invite people to come and see God’s mercy. Jesus affirms my sincere effort to grow in holiness even though I am sometimes sarcastic and doubtful like Nathaniel. Beforehand he had the mindset that nothing good can come from Nazareth, but his actual meeting with Jesus changed that perception. Do I confirm people’s negative preconception of me, or do I prove them wrong by my positive attitudes? Do I realize that loving and respecting the virtues and giftedness of others can bring them closer to God? Do I invite others to come and see God’s deep love for humanity?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, I want to follow you. Thank you for inviting me to come and see your love for me. Let me be like you who is able to see the goodness that can come out of others. Heal my skepticism and flush away from my life the tendency to be insincere and deceitful. Help me to see mightier and greater things this new year. Thank you for choosing me to bring people to the Christian vocation. May I like Phillip attract souls for the Kingdom through my words and actions. Amen.
