THEME: THE GOLDEN RULE THE NARROW GATE.

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI EHJ.

Mt 7: 6, 12-14.

Jesus contrasts holiness and precious pearls with dogs and pigs. I am to avoid dirt and sin, but uphold moral and spiritual values. He encourages me to practice the golden rule and to take the narrow gate. The narrow gate seems very difficult, but it is the fastest, the best and the easiest. It does not take much to follow it, but my proud and greedy human nature blinds me to take the wider gate that leads nowhere. What are my spiritual values? What are the reasons for the choices I make?

LET US PRAY
Father, let me be strong to make the right choice. Help me to see and know that good things demand the sacrifice of a narrow path, that there will be light at the end of the tunnel. Give me the grace to always practice the golden rule. Amen.
