REFLECTION ON THE BIRTHDAY OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

A REFLECTION ON THE BIRTHDAY OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY.

(Fr A N. Abiagom, CM).

1. Apart from it’s often being an external show of joy in which a multitude gather to feast with rich foods and choicest wines, a celebration is an internal attitude of gratitude, appreciation and love.

2. One who celebrates his or her birthday without celebrating the birthday of his or her parents, does not really understand the meaning of existence.

3. Whether by natural conception or through artificial insemination, the womb of a woman biologically remains the seat of life. How would one celebrate life without coming out from a woman’s womb alive?

3. If we celebrate the birth of Christ our Saviour, shall we not celebrate the birth of the woman from whose womb our Saviour was brought forth?

4. The birthday of the New Eve is a must celebration for all who understand these words of her magnificant, “… henceforth all generations shall call me blessed” (Luke 1:48).

5. If we believe that Mary is the mother of God, by her being the mother of Jesus who is of two natures (divine and human) but of one divine person (God) as based on divine revelation, we cannot but celebrate with joy and gratitude her birthday.

6. If we believe her immaculate conception, her glorious Assumption and coronation in heaven, how can we forget to celebrate the one whom heaven so preserved from corruption and honoured?

7. The Virgin who accepted a pregnancy to which no man would claim responsibility, a clear display of her profound humility, total obedience and ardent chastity in the light of God’s eternal love.

8. We celebrate today the Noble Queen’s Birth!
Let all men and women of every nation on earth give her the hyperdulia! The birthday of the Queen of queens who gave birth to the King of kings is nothing but a universal celebration!

9. Heaven rejoices as earth gladdens for the gift of the Blessed Virgin Mary to humanity. Mary must be honoured in our lives everyday!

Happy feast day of the nativity of Mary our Mother. May she continue to intercede for us.

Love.

N.b: Share and tell the world about this noble celebration.
