Revenge Is Of The Lord

Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord Romans 12:19

I saw a movie recently where a lady, being asked to leave revenge for the lord said “God is very busy, He’s busy answering the prayers of millions of humans all over the world, He doesn’t have time and I want to assist him with this one revenge. I want to relieve him of the stress of fighting for me” And supposedly justified by this statement, she went to fight the couple who made her loose a suitor. This is probably the mentality of series of Christians in the world today.

Personally, I believe so much in the power of karma. For every good you commit, good comes to you; and for every wrong you commit, you pay sufficiently for it.

I also believe that whenever I carry out a good act, I should keep it secret. This way, no one gets to know about it and no one would try to repay me. I believe that if I get repaid for any act of kindness by any man, God might decide that I have already received payment for that good and he might not want to bless me the way I would have expected. So whenever I do anything right, I like to keep it hidden so that only God in heaven can reward me. You can imagine how great that reward would be. That’s how much I love rewards. And it’s usually my push to do good most times.

On the other hand, when someone is wicked to me, I also like to keep quiet and do nothing about it. If however, I’m not all that pained, I could easily tell you how bad I feel about what you did and let go of it by probably screaming at you or throwing away your stuff. But if I’m really pained and filled with anger and pain about what you did, I usually try hard to do nothing about it. I believe I’m really mean. I love revenge. But I believe the sweetest revenge is that one that karma serves. God serves his revenge hot and peppery. It’s that type I want for those who deliberately try to bring me down.

I know a lot of people who are suffering. Some have died, some suddenly became poor, and some became sick, or cripple, all as a result of one spiritual attack or another. A stupid man would try to fight dirty with the devil, but a wise man wouldn’t. A wise man would commend his entire life to God and keep his hands clean. Whoever has a clean heart is God’s own beloved. Only God has a say in such a man’s life. And whoever tries to harm a holy man is doomed.

When I was in the university, my father lost all that he had. A millionaire suddenly became a pauper. My dad however was a really devout catholic. He believed so much in God’s holy will and despite all that he went through, he never stopped believing in God’s supreme power. Despite the poverty which the devil threw at him, God protected him and his family.

Although my dad was a pauper, God still miraculously provided funds to train five of his children through the university. Although for seven years, he had no source of income, God helped him to keep paying his rent, not once, was he thrown out of the house. I don’t know how God did it but I saw myself spending not more than 2000 Naira in a month comfortably in school. That was a miracle, and I don’t know how God did it.

A lot of poor people had to drop out of school or move to smaller houses, but God was faithful to my father, and nothing changed. I believe that this is the effect of faith. It is the effect of total surrender to God’s holy will. So that in spite of difficulties, all your needs would still be settled according to his holy will.

But the wicked shall not go unpunished. God probably allowed that to happen so as to teach us the value of being spendthrift, or to teach us to handle situations effectively. He definitely allowed this happen for our own good. However, he used the devil as a tool. And that tool which was used shall pay dearly for it eventually. God gives long ropes to bad people. Really long ropes. But it doesn’t change the fact that they are doomed when they try to play games with people’s lives.

My motto is keep your hands clean. Have plenty of love in your heart. God loves purity. He loves innocence. Avoid sin. Stay close to God. He is your father and only Him can protect you. Even the devil answers to Him.

Our Lady’s children are a terror to the evil ones. Consecrate yourselves to our lady and be faithful to her. She has sworn to protect her children till they come to sit beside her in heaven.

May God help us through Christ our Lord. Amen.
