Pope departs Portugal after canonization of the two “shepherds”

Pope Francis left Portugal on Saturday after canonising two shepherd siblings believed to have seen the Madonna 100 years ago in the Portuguese town of Fatima, a major pilgrimage site for Catholics. The canonization of the two “shepherds ” was full of emotion, especially at the end of the ceremony, where in a procession they they took the image of Our Lady to the place of the apparitions.
