WEDNESDAY 32ND WEEK IN ORDINARY TIMES, YEAR A – (St Albert the Great, Bishop, Doctor).
THEME: Giving it all back!
By; Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor (Uromi Diocese)
Wis.6:1-11; Luke 17:11-19
It’s not unusual to find many young celebrities involved with many charity organizations today, as they try to ‘give back’ to the community that helped them get to their level of fame and prosperity. But not all of them remember to give back. Today’s first reading reminds us that power is a gift from the Lord and sovereignty from the Most High. For this reason, those who wield certain powers over others must learn how to give back through humility and genuine love and care for the people they govern.

Take Albert the Great for instance. He was Bishop of Regensburg for three years before resigning the position. He was more interested in giving back by bringing peace between peoples and cities; his great love of science and astronomy notwithstanding. Friends, we must find a way to give back too. All the leper did in the gospel reading was come back to give thanks. Though he was the only Samaritan in the group, he was the only one who knew what it meant to give back through thanksgiving. Can we do the same?
Good morning dear. God bless your day ahead. St Albert the Great. Pray for us!
