YEAR B: HOMILY FOR THURSDAY OF THE TWELFTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME

HOMILY THEME: BENEFICIARIES OF YOUR DOOM

BY: Rev Fr Joseph Nyarko Asare

HOMILY:

(2 Kgs 24:8-17/Ps 79:1-5, 8-9/Mt 7:21-29)

Each disobedience to the will of God is an opportunity of the evil one to cause destruction in one’s life. Our doom enriches the enemy like King Nebuchadnezzar carrying the treasures of Israel to Babylon.

When we are tempted to go our own way, let us be rest assured that the thief is on the lookout to enter and loot us. And when we are not robbed, we destroy our heritage and investment like the collapse of a building set on sandy and faulty foundations.

No matter how hard it is, let us try harder to obey the degrees of the Lord. Undoubtedly, the only way out of destruction and chaos is complete reliance on God dictated by complete obedience to His will.

PRAYER POINTS
~For strength against temptation ~That our culture would not draw us from God
~For the courage to obey and trust God
