HOMILY THEME: HIS LOVE FOR LITTLE CHILDREN

BY: Fr. Benny Tuazon

HOMILY:

(Mt. 18:1-10) Feast of the Guardian Angels

In today’s Gospel, Feast of the Guardian Angels, Jesus shares His love for children.

He warns His apostles not to despise them and be the cause of their sins. To show His love, He assigned them Guardian Angels. These angels are responsible to the children before the Lord.

As we have said during the feast of the archangels, angels are pure spirits who represent God to us. Guardian angels have specific roles. They are guides and guards. They are God's presence for our security and right direction.

Many stories had been told about children emerging unscathed from accidents. It is believed that their guardian angels saved them. I witnessed one when we rescued some pilgrims whose vehicle turned turtle in an accident. Most of the adults were either bruised or in a worse condition. But the children were not harmed at all. It was hard to believe but true. Their Guardian Angels were at work. Remember the prayer to the Guardian Angels? It is still good to pray it before you go to sleep. Angel of God My guardian dear To whom His love Commits me here Ever this day Be on my side To light and guard To rule and guide Amen!
