YEAR B: HOMILY FOR TUESDAY OF THE TWELFTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME

HOMILY THEME: PEARLS BEFORE SWINE

BY: Fr. Benny Tuazon

HOMILY:

(Mt. 7:6,12-14) Tuesday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time

In the day’s Gospel Jesus says what is proper to man and to the rest of creation. Pearls have no value to swine and holiness is nothing to the dogs. Man, as God’s best creation has soul and avails of salvation.

We have to clarify this truth and never forget it. Let us give importance to what is important and what are unnecessary. Glaring nowadays are growing awareness of animal rights while human rights are neglected. Many cry foul for animal abuses but are blind before the fate of the poor.

Buti pa ang mga hayop alagang-alaga. Ang sasarap ng pagkain at naka-aircon pa! We were created in the image and likeness of God. God gave us hearts and souls. Of all, the human being is of utmost importance. We are our brother’s keeper. Every life is worth saving for God’s greater glory. When Jesus died on the cross, He died for everyone, sinner or saint. We have to improve on our care for each other. We all deserve not only the best this world can give but the best God is giving. Heaven is our home and to heaven we must go.
