YEAR C: HOMILY FOR THE 3RD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

HOMILY THEME:  “Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your ears”

BY: Fr Emmanuel Nwokeji

HOMILY: In Lukan Gospel 1:1-4,4:14-21, we observed that Jesus decided to start his work in Galilee and in the synagogue.

Jesus respected the activities in the synagogue and showed a great concern in identifying with his immediate village.

Jesus declared his plan for humanity, those who are poor or in need of God, those who are underrated for their conditions that He has come to retrieve their lost joy. What a wonderful glad tidings brought by Jesus for me and you. A plan that contains Good News holds the audience and attracts good reputation. All eyes should focus on Jesus who is our teacher and master.

As you listen attentively to God’s word and take them to heart, may it’s spiritual benefits overshadow you and your family. Also may our good plans for others bring victory, freedom, restoration and healing to those around and in need.

Happy Third Sunday of the Year C in the ordinary time.

Fr Emmanuel Nwokeji is in union of prayers with you and your family.

  1. […] HOMILY: God manifests and gives Himself to us in different ways. One of the most sublime ways God gave and continues to give Himself to us is in His Word. The Word spoken by the Father, the Word that is the Eternal Logos and that became incarnate in the person of Jesus Christ and the Word that is always alive and active in our lives and midst by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Word of God is at the centre of our lives and of all we do as Christians. May the power in the Word of God continue to lead us to a deepened relationship with God and with those around us; Amen.
