YEAR C: HOMILY FOR WEDNESDAY AFTER EPIPHANY

HOMILY THEME: AWESOME COMPANION

BY: Rev Fr Joseph Nyarko Asare

HOMILY: (1 Jn 4:11-18/Ps 72/Mk 6:45-52)

We entered 2019 through a night service tagged with various names ending with “…over”. Whether we crosses, passed, jumped or whatever over, we started with the Lord. If we had no night service, we began the year with the 1st January Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God.

Today is the ninth day of the New Year. Those who had novenas are completing today. If you have not done anything, just pause and commit your year to the Lord. We started with the Lord (if you have not, do it now) and the end will be gloriously great. Remember Jer 29:11, Phil 1:6, Isaiah 40:28-30 and Phil 4:13.

We will encounter some storms but it will not sink us. The Lord who we permitted to lead our year will be in our boat as we get to our destination. The challenges we face will not bring us down for God keeps saving the poor and the needy. He rescued the 12 from storms and He never changes. Hopefully, we are smiling to December 31st for God is with us (Emmanuel). Jesus knows where we are and will ensure our security.

PRAYER POINTS
~That we can trust Jesus
~For peace within our storms
~For the grace to hope in all conditions
