YOU CALL ME BY MY NAME
Have you ever been called by name? What does it feel like to be called by name? Your name is strongly a part of your identity. If ten persons were to be walking on a path and a name is called, the one likely to get more attention of the call is the one who goes by the called name.
No one calls you by name without knowing your name. When you have been called by name, you are more likely to listen to the caller even if he or she is a stranger. I have seen people excited when someone of great reputation or noble personality in the society call them by name.
Expression such as; “aaah! You know my name!” is what I often hear exclaimed joyfully. Friend, I woke with the thought of not just any noble personality knowing my name this morning but God knowing my name. O what satisfaction I felt and joy in my heart! Do you know that God knows your name?
In case you do not know that God knows your name, the prophet Isaiah has this to say to you: “And now, thus says Yahweh, he who created you, …….. , who formed you, ……..: Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” (Isaiah 43:1-2) God knows our names! Let fainting hearts be revived!
