DAILY REFLECTION FOR FRIDAY OF THE 23RD WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME CYCLE II
THEME: SELF EVALUATION
BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI EHJ
REFLECTION FOR FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 9 2022
Lk 6: 39 – 42.
I must never loose sight of the fact that I am an unfinished product still in need of God’s grace. This attitude will help me to be less harsh on others. I should make effort to be more knowledgeable so that I can lead others rightly. Furthermore, I need to make extra effort to train myself in discipline, love, justice etc, so that at the end I can resemble Jesus, my Master and Teacher. Am I still as judgmental as I was last month? Do I give complimentary or negative comments on group whatsapp, blogs, fb, twitter? Do I do a periodic self-evaluation?
LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. I have become an expert forcing others to do the right things which I myself do not do, thereby leading them to nowhere. Please, forgive me Lord. I am in need of your grace. Help me to grow, think and speak wisely. Help me to journey inward, face my shadow and work on myself rather than always busying myself pointing out and stigmatizing the mistakes of others. Help me to make every effort to stand out in virtue practice even when everyone around is practicing vices. Help me to improve myself and speak to others from a caring and loving heart. Amen.
