THURSDAY HOMILY: 34TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME (YEAR A)

HOMILY FOR THURSDAY 34TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME – YEAR A (Feast of St Andrew).

THEME: How lovely are your feet?

By: Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor

Rom.10:9-18; Matt.4:18-22

Do you have beautiful feet? St. Paul tells us today that the feet of one who brings good news are always beautiful. The Apostles had such lovely feet; they couldn’t stay in one place, but went all over, proclaiming the good news of salvation to the ends of the earth. Did you know Andrew quickly went after his brother in John’s gospel after he saw Christ? In Matthew’s gospel, Simon and Andrew abandoned their lives to follow Jesus and he made their feet beautiful.

Dear friends, have you confessed Jesus as Lord with your lips, and do you believe that God raised him from the dead in your heart? So let’s become preachers like the Apostles before us. We’ve all been sent, and it is our responsibility to lead others to Christ as well. Even in death, St Andrew continued to preach the good news. Legend has it that he was largely venerated in ancient times and became patron saint of Scotland, since some of his bones were buried at the place where the town of St Andrew’s now stands. Hurry, let’s make our feet beautiful by taking Christ’s Good News eveywhere.

Good morning dear. God bless your day ahead. Happy last day of the month of November.
