TUESDAY HOMILY, 1ST WEEK OF ADVENT – YEAR B

HOMILY FOR MONDAY 3RD WEEK IN ADVENT - YEAR B

TUESDAY HOMILY, 1ST WEEK OF ADVENT – YEAR B

THEME: Happy the eyes that see what you see!

By: Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor

Is.11:1-10; Luke 10:21-24

Don’t forget that the seventy had just returned from the assignment Jesus gave them. And yes, they returned with testimonies of how His name cast out demons and healed diseases. Jesus tells them to rejoice because their names have been added to the book of life. This should be the reason for their happiness, not necessarily the miracles.

ALSO RECOMMENDED: HOMILY FOR TUESDAY OF THE 1ST WEEK OF ADVENT.

Friends, Isaiah beautifully presents the coming of Jesus in the first reading of today. Jesus is the shoot which springs from the stock of Jesse, and on him the spirit of the Lord rests. The same One who does not judge by appearances, but looks at the heart. As Advent brings us closer to Jesus, let our daily actions reflect the joy of a people filled with the Holy Spirit and grace. Let our lives be purposeful and intentional; for what does it profit us if we gain the world at the cost of our souls?

Good morning dear. God bless your day ahead.
