YEAR B: 3RD WEEK TUESDAY HOMILY – ADVENT

HOMILY FOR MONDAY 1ST WEEK IN LENT - YEAR B

YEAR B: 3RD WEEK TUESDAY HOMILY – ADVENT

THEME: Glad tidings of Christmas!

BY: Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor

Judges 13:2-7,24-25; Luke 1:5-25

Great things happen when God mixes with us; great and beautiful, wonderful things (how I love that song)… Remember Samson? The one who single handedly dealt with the Philistines and judged Israel for many years? He was born of a woman that many considered barren. What about John the Baptist? The greatest Prophet that ever lived? He too was born of Elizabeth, who was also considered barren.

Friends, it is hardly surprising that the season of Christmas brings glad tidings and breaks barriers. It is why the psalmist’s lips is filled with praise and glory to God today. Let us allow Christ come into our lives and our homes, that those barren situations may become fruitful; that darkness may be transformed into light, and that sorrow becomes joy. Let us also understand that we too have a responsibility to make someone else joyful this season.

Good morning dear. God bless your week ahead.
