40 DAYS JOURNEY WITH THE LORD

Tuesday of the 2nd Week of Lent.

DAILY CHALLENGE: Sing praises. Continue to bless God.

DAILY THEME: Why you must praise God.

THINK ABOUT THIS: You or God who really need the other more? Do you ever imagine God as that lonely Being looking for companion? Psalm 33:7 says ‘by the Word of the Lord, the heavens were made’. If God’s Word has such power, do you think He will need anything without commanding that think to come into existence. When we worship, praise or go to God’s temple, it is for our own good. Worshiping God do not add anything to God, rather it adds to us. It wins our friendship with God, and therefore dispose us for God’s favours and blessings. Did you go to church today? Are you now ready to sing songs unto him?

Bible Reading –Matthew 23:1–12

Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying, “The scribes and the Pharisees have taken their seat on the chair of Moses. Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you, but do not follow their example. For they preach but they do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens hard to carry and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they will not lift a finger to move them. All their works are performed to be seen. They widen their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels. They love places of honor at banquets, seats of honor in synagogues, greetings in marketplaces, and the salutation ‘Rabbi.’ As for you, do not be called ‘Rabbi.’ You have but one teacher, and you are all brothers. Call no one on earth your father; you have but one Father in heaven. Do not be called ‘Master’; you have but one master, the Christ. The greatest among you must be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled; but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”

PRAY WITH ME

Lord, all I want and long for is to praise your name. I’m nothing without you, and you deserve all my praise. I join the angels, the twenty-four elders, the choirs of heaven, the Saints and the citizens of heaven to praise you this day. Let my praises be a sweet smelling aroma before you. Let any evil power against my life begin to tremble and fall, that you may have your way in my life. And Let your Holy Spirit accompany me to make this journey faithfully to the end, so that it may bear fruit in my life. Amen.
