HOMILY: TUESDAY 2ND WEEK IN ADVENT – YEAR B (Our Lady of Guadalupe)
HOMILY: TUESDAY 2ND WEEK IN ADVENT – YEAR B (Our Lady of Guadalupe)
THEME: Cooperate in getting found!
By: Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor
Is.40:1-11; Matt.18:12-14
Sometimes we stay far away from God’s presence due to wrong choices and wrong turns down the road of life. But hear what Isaiah says, “Here is the Lord coming with power… He is like a shepherd feeding his flock, gathering lambs in his hands, holding them against his breast and leading to their rest the mother ewes.” Jesus is that kind of Shepherd who prefers to leave ninety-nine righteous sheep in search of us when we stray.

Friends, Do you remember St Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin, the Indian convert? It was through his humility and fervour that the mother of God appeared to him in 1531 on the hill called Tepeyac near Mexico City. A Church was even built in honour of Our Lady of Guadalupe, whose Memorial we celebrate today. Today, she’s the Patroness of the Americas. I know you have seen that unique picture of Our Lady of Guadalupe – a picture that wasn’t painted by any human hands. Like St Juan Diego, we too must do whatever we can to position ourselves in such a way that we may be found.
Good morning dear. God bless your week ahead. Our Lady of Guadeloupe, pray for us!
