An African Proverb states that God conceals himself from man’s mind, but reveals himself to his heart. Scripture says “God is Love” (1 John 4:8) and the heart of Jesus reveals God’s love for us. Notable scriptural verses point to the nature and the agony of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Furthermore, Jesus describes himself as gentle and humble in heart and calls us to imitate him. He says, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowły in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matthew 11:29).

The experience of Jesus on the cross tells us it is not possible to love without experiencing a wounded heart.”… One of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water” John 19:34). The Sacred Heart of Jesus holds immense significance in the Christian faith, symbolizing the profound love, compasion, and mercy of Jesus Christ.

There are many examples of lifechanging stories and testimonies of people who have a special devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I have practically seen how this devotion transformed the lives of individuals, families, and communities. How often do we pray and ask Jesus to make our hearts like his own by being humbler, patient, pure, and wholly obedient to His will?
